Mercz The 1st the Singer/ MC/ Music Producer/ Songwriter grew up in Leicester UK, he showed musical talent from a young age by singing in the church junior Choir & composing his own songs by the age of 11 at JB's Studio, owned by his eldest brother Joseph (Music Producer/ Engineer/ Re-mixer).
 Mercz was a keen break dancer influenced by the eighties hip hop scene. He performed at venues and competitions around the Midlands & by his early teens started writing rap songs. After years of practice and development, he & Maestro his older brother (also Singer/ Songwriter/ Rapper/ Producer) started the Blakmale duo, they performed at several venues all over Europe, supported chart topping artists & shared stages with Janet Jackson, Boys 2 Men, Mark Morrison, Mick Hucknall, Kylie Minogue & Ray Lewis to name but a few. Mercz The 1st started to gain more & more experience as a music producer and set up his studio in 2004 & after putting together a catalogue of songs he started his own independent label Mirac Music in 2006.

After performing all over Europe in 2007-2010 Mercz The 1st recorded the promo LP Universal Language with songs such as Rap Hits & Do That Dance that received a lot of club and radio play, also write ups in newspapers & magazines. Ras Kwame played Do That Dance on his Radio 1 show at the time and it was on the website available for streaming for weeks afterwards.

In 2013 Mercz The 1st was asked to judge at the Live And Unsigned annual talent show in the Midlands, the auditions were held at the Riverside Centre, Derby. Mercz The 1st said, "It's an absolute honour to take part in the Live & Unsigned talent show, there's so much talent in the UK & it should be an interesting competition!". The Finals were held at the O2 Centre in London.

In 2014 He collaborated with different organisations to promote the Mirac brand including Pen Studios, Emporium Events, N.A.P, SKW, Twonine08 Trading & Grandeur Gatherings, also Mirac Group Clothing came into production (Limited Edition Designer Wear).
2016 - 2017 was spent recording, shooting videos & live performances in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Cyprus & Spain for Mercz The 1st. At the end of 2017 he launched Mirac Studios in Leicester City Centre's cultural quarter where he produced most of his LP entitled 'Mix-Tapes & CDs', it's available for download on itunes, Spotify & mail order / digital download from the website www.merczthe1st.com. Mercz started 2018 on a high with an interview on Sky TV 'The Lifestyle Show' where he spoke about his brand & performed a song live in the studio. He was also interviewed by Hurdle White at BBC Radio Leicester who played songs from the LP 'Mixtapes & CDs. Mercz supported New York Hip Hop artiste Pharoahe Monch on his UK Tour in March & has shows booked throughout the summer including festivals & concerts.
